NANOROS elaboration of nanotechnological countermeasures based on cerium oxide nanoparticles to skeletal muscle alterations and functional deficiencies due to oxidative stress that arise from prolonged exposure to microgravity.

Cell cultures will be stored up within fluidic experimental units that allow the maintenance of cells from the launch to the end of the experiment. Each experimental unit has a culture room where the cells are housed and five tanks that are automatically activated by a predetermined sequence. The five tanks allow three changes of culture medium, a washing in saline solution, and finally treatment with a preservation solution. Each experimental unit is completely autonomous when it is inserted in the incubator KUBIK, and enables the complete execution of the experiment without any manual intervention.
