On January 23rd, the Kayser Italia PROMETEO team, together with the Science Team from IIT Pontedera, successfully retrieved the biological samples from the Experiment Containers (ECs) launched to the ISS last November 7th with NG-18 from Wallops Flight Center. All the 12 ECs, integrated by the team at launch site, completed the automatic activation during the incubation period in the Kubik incubator of the Columbus module, and the retrieved cells are in a very good shape! In the following weeks, the Science Team will process the biological samples to draw conclusions on the role of polydopamine nanoparticles as antioxidant protection countermeasure.
