Cape Canaveral, December 3th , 2019. The team of Kayser Italia and Kayser Space at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for the next launch of the experiment ROTIFER B-1 with the SpaceX- CRS19.

The experiment, run by a research team from the University of Namur in Belgium with the support of Kayser Italia, will study the overall impact of the spaceflight, including  launch effects, microgravity, cosmic radiation and landing shocks on a biological sample in a hydrated state. The selected biological sample is the bdelloids species Adineta vaga, a new model organism for space research. In order to evaluate the effect of microgravity on the biological processes of the Adineta vaga, samples will be analysed, after flight exposure, using a large-scale transcriptome analysis (RNAseq).
