Shape memory experiment on ISS (flown on STS-134 / ULF6, DAMA Mission). The IFOAM experiment unit allows the accommodation of three polymeric foam samples in the heating chamber. Temperature data loggers, optical sensors and a camera are used to measure the foam shape changes as a function of time and temperature.

It is a fully Autonomous experiment, including the Control unit and software, a space qualified Battery pack, the Experiment Unit (EU containing 3 samples), an heating system with temperature. control, an Optical acquisition system , with Data storage of video and environmental  data in non-volatile memory .

The entire system is hosted into a Kayser Italia’s standard BIOKON Container.
