| WHAT IS MOPI |
|
|
| |
|
|
MOPI is a remote sensing system capable to monitor movements of unstable slopes using a radio frequency measurement technique.
MOPI allows keeping under surveillance twenty-four hours a day, at a safe distance, the slopes subject to dangerous landslides that threaten the urban and industrial settlements, the roads, the railways. |

| In case of any movement within the landslide zone, the system detects the morphology variations and produces an alarm signal that is automatically sent to the competent authority for intervention. |
| At the same time the system records the amount of movement and its temporal evolution. These data are available for later analysis in order to study the behaviour of the landslide and to anticipate its future evolution. |
| The instrument is installed far from the slope, in a position from which the slope is directly visible from the instrument itself. |
| No personnel access is necessary to the slope surface during installing operations. |
| MOPI is also suitable for the surveillance of bridges, dams, towers and applies very well also in pits, where it can give early warnings about the movement of blocks (marble, stone) for a higher safety of pit workers. |
