Kayser Italia has a Quality Management System certified to UNI EN 9100:2018 and UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 (UnaviaCert – certificate number 00297-N). This Quality System is detailed in an internally developed Quality Manual, Quality Procedures and Working Instructions.
Kayser Italia Quality Control department is responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of internal quality standards. For this reason, periodical internal and external audits are foreseen.
The manufacturing personnel is regularly trained and certified by European Space Agency (ESA) approved institutes on the following subjects:
- Soldering of PCB and connectors
- SMT soldering
- Solder inspection
- Crimping
- Wire-wrapping
- Harness manufacturing
- Harness inspection
The product assurance department follows a calibration and set-up plan for all the instruments and for the production equipment.
Training courses for the personnel are periodically organized and software tools for the management of the technical documentation related to the projects are provided. Personnel are also trained on safety aspects for payloads on manned and un-manned USA and Russian carriers.
The Software life cycle processes are implemented according to the ECSS-E-ST-40C (Software Engineering) and maintained under quality control according to ECSS-Q-ST-80C (Software product assurance).
