The ENEIDE mission logo

The ENEIDE space mission began with the launch of the Soyuz TMA-6 to the ISS on 15 April 2005. The Soyuz capsule was commanded by the italian astronaut Roberto Vittori, the first European astronaut to achieve the rank of Soyuz commander. Till the return to earth with the Soyuz TMA-5 on the 24 April of the same year, Vittori performed several experiments of physical fatigue and on the germination of seeds of herbaceous plants for a possible source of space foods.

The experiments designed and supported by Kayser Italia were:

GOAL  T-shirt made of elastic and antibacterial tissue, useful for studying the problems of living, of dressing. It is a technological experiment, through which we can put on the scientific basis the problem of the comfort of the astronauts, which will be crucial for long-lasting missions ".
VINO The VINO experiment concerns the growth of rooted vines of Sassicaia on the International Space Station.
HPA Hand Posture Analyzer, an instrument used to analyze the motor coordination and muscular fatigue of the astronauts' hand and forearm.
VSV A tool for the study of vertical perception. The instrument is a tube in which the astronaut looks through a viewer, to exclude light, like a kaleidoscope. On the display of which it is equipped, lines appear automatically on which one must judge the verticality.
