HAMVIDEO used for the first time on board the ISS


Livorno, 11 February 2016 - An historic event was made on February 11th 2016, at the Royal Masonic School for Girls, Rickmansworth.

For the first time a school had the possibility to receive live video images from the ISS (International Space Station) , viewing and talking to British  Astronaut Tim Peake, during a contact of about eight minute live link organized by the ARISS Radio Amateur organization.

The Head of Education and Skills for the UK Space Agency (UKSA), Jeremy Curtis, declared its proudness for this important achievement, supported by ARISS and by the ground network in Ireland, UK and Italy.

After one year from commissioning in orbit, the HAMVIDEO Hardware developed by Kayser Italia under ESA Contract was successfully used for the first time.
